Briefly
SpyTrace is a clandestine, light-weight, cell phone tracking app available for both smart and dumb phones alike. It does only one thing and does it well; it relays its location at preset intervals providing you with an indelible trail. It also supports instant triangulation via SMS commands.
SpyTrace deploys quickly and allows you to quietly track an army of individuals. As such, it is designed for their mobile phones, and not just yours! However it will not allow you to listen to their voice calls, read their SMS's, or watch them floss their teeth.
Use it as a safety net to monitor your loved-ones' movements whilst he/she/they are backpacking across Europe, trekking through Asia, or just plain spending the weekend away. Perhaps you manage a mobile sales team or want to track your company's mobile assets. The possibilities are only limited by your imagination.
Strengths
Where were they last Friday night at 22:00? With SpyTrace you don't just get realtime location data, but you also get a history of movements.
Further more this data is e-mailed to you and does not reside on the server. You simply need to go through your e-mails to the relevant date and time.
SpyTrace is not complicated bloatware that takes time and meticulous effort to setup, promises the world, and then crashes the phone, rendering it useless to begin with. Experience tell us that that simple GPS monitoring is often all you need to get the job done.
SpyTrace does not require that you buy your kids (for example) expensive $600 smart phones just to keep an eye on them, only to have the phone lost or stolen at school.
Cost
The first 12 months are free and you don't need a credit card to sign-up and begin using the service immediately. If you still have need of the service beyond 12 months then we ask that you contribute to our expenses with a paltry AU$60 per year thereafter.
You can track an unlimited number of phones with a single account however fair usage limits apply.
How it works
Installation takes seconds.
Once the app is installed on the target phone, you will start receiving hourly e-mail notifications of that phone's current location with a link to Google Maps. The frequency of these automatic e-mail notifications can be changed from within your online control panel. Should you require the location of the target phone at any instant in time then you can send it a specially coded SMS command. SMS commands are supressed and not seen on arrival on the target phone.
If your phone (and/or the target phone) does not have Internet access then there is a second SMS command that can be used to force the target phone to secretly SMS you back with its location.
If the phone is turned off then the app will start silently upon reboot.
Accuracy
The target phone's location is computed using a combination of GPS satellites, cell towers, and Wi-Fi signals. Accuracy is determined by the interplay between the target phone and the surrounding environment, and not by the SpyTrace app. Please bear in mind that the accuracy may vary from 10 metres to upto 2km. Feel free to test this to your own satisfaction.
Battery consumption
All apps require increased battery consumption and SpyTrace is no different. It will also depend upon the type and age of your phone.
Installation
You MUST sign-up for an online account and activate it BEFORE you install the app. You will be provided with an account number and an account key which are REQUIRED for successful installation of the application.

Privacy
The app only reads the IMEI/IMSI numbers and the phone's current position ie. latitude & longitude. Absolutely no location data is stored on the server. As soon as the data comes in from the target phone it is relayed to your specified e-mail address. Users otherwise remain anonymous.
